– SHAOLIN JAZZ in Ethiopia –
SHAOLIN JAZZ was awarded a grant to conduct their hip-hop and jazz programming in Ethiopia and they needed a series of graphics to help brand and communicate their travels and programming. The concept for the graphic above communicates their travel and mission to work globally.
The response from the design was so well received that SHAOLIN JAZZ turned it into a commemorative T-Shirt which they used as product for their crowd-funding campaign and was later added to their official product line.

– NINJA VUITTON –
One of SHAOLIN JAZZ’s most popular multimedia engagements is called CAN I KICK IT?, where they curate a classic martial arts movie, live, with a range of classic rock, funk, soul, and hip-hop and the “NINJA VUITTON” design above was a graphic that I created to accompany a dialog that SHAOLIN JAZZ wanted to develop which highlights the synergies between martial arts and hip-hop and hip-hop and streetwear.
The response from the “NINJA VUITTON” design was so well received that SHAOLIN JAZZ launched it as their first design in a line of printed T-Shirts and it sold out in two weeks in a streetwear/skate boutique called Palace 5ive.
– 37th Byrd –
SHAOLIN JAZZ needed designs to help brand their “Byrd Over Staten” release, a project which fused instrumentals from jazz legend Donald Byrd with the acappellas from the iconic hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan.
The graphic above, which they added as a design to their line of product, speaks to the usage of Donald Byrd’s music and the “37” which signifies SHAOLIN JAZZ and their signature style of mixing jazz music with Wu-Tang Clan.

– Wheel of Death –
Above is one in a series of designs that I created to help brand a monthly event that SHAOLIN JAZZ conducts called CAN I KICK IT? where they screen classic martial arts movies and fuse them with classic hip-hop, rock, funk and sound bites.
The design has been applied to SHAOLIN JAZZ’s full product line which includes apparel and consumer goods.
